the weekened has started...

yesterday i got my ears ripped out and stomped on at tiger idol. There was so really good acts that i liked, but overall everyone sucked. i just really wasn't in the mood for that..... Then i spent like two hours with nicole, shawn and onisha at fridays chillin and talking. Good bonding time ya know.

Today i homework days since tomorrow is the super bowl. now i don't care a rats ass who wins, i just always loved super bowl parties. My family always went to one when i was in grade school down in newburgh. Also, you gotta love the comercials. I think that that is the only time in televison history that people watch a show souly for the comericals (non football fans). It's like, they have the football for the guys and the commericals for the rest, and overall get more money and better ratings. hehehhe i can't wait to see the commericals.. it's going to be even more interesting considering i'll be at the LST for this event!

this weekend rocked. i had a lot of fun dancing my ass off at the snow ball.... too bad when i was dancing my ass off i was also slowing dancing my dress off... need to by myself some dancing shoes with a dancing dress to match.

yesterday was such a monday though. my favorite necklace that my aunt brought back from hawaii for me broke outside the physics room. i tried to save all that i could, and made it into a key chain hehe. Then i had this total blonde moment in human rights and confused this one girl in my class as a girl in my group. i totally went up to her ready to talk about the research paper.. and she was like "are you in my group?" and i just realized what i did...i was so embaressed.... omg...

today is already going not so well.. i forgot that i had to work and my boss calls my house wondering were i was. So i'm here, all bummy because i couldn't do my hair, eating some breakfast sandwitch out of the vending machine that i don't think is real, not doing my work....

let see what the week brings me

ok so i apparently can't put in a link to this map of the ski resort.. so go to http://www.bristolmt.com/trailmap.htm
ggrrr

so yesterday i went on my frist skiing trip!!

I've always wanted to ski, a lot of people in my family ski, and i live in the adirondacks, so skiing is all around me. Honors sponsored this ski trip to bristle mountain in canadagia.. about 40 minutes away. I got a lesson, ski rentals, transportation, food and lift ticket for $30. I was all nervous trying this out, the mountain looked so big!

My lesson went well. I learned the wedge, and how to get the skis on and off, and the instructor said that i was a "natural athelet" hahahha. After my lesson, i went on the training hill for a bit. I mostly skied with this 13 year old girl from a local school because she was in my lesson group and she needed a buddy. After a while she convinced me to go up the mountain to go down on the easiest trail they had. So we get on the lift and everything was going well. When we got to the top, i completely spilled out. After being yelled at by the lift guy to get out of the way, i got my skis back on and started down the hill. Here is a trail map.. i had the one that is farthest to the left, that looks like a backward 7...

There was this huge 90 degree turn on this trail! I never really learned how to turn and i got all nervous and freaked out. I completly fell down in front of this ski lesson group. I got up and this ski patrol guy came over to see how i was doing. He noticed that my disposable camera fell out of my pocket and offered to take a picture of me after my fall on the moutain. So i'm trembling, on the moutain, holding my skis and possing for a picture for the ski patrol hahaha. He walked me down a bit till it was a bit flatter. I got back on my skis and headed down again. All of a sudden it got steeper and i couldn't slow myself down! So again i freaked out and totally crashed on the trail. I fell backwards, turned around with my skis pointing up the mountain and skidding down. I got snow all up in my underwear. The ski patrol guy came over to me too see how i was doing again. He was really nice and carried my skis down the mountain as i walked.

After my tramatising experience i decided i needed to eat lunch so i didn't pass out from anxiety (which happens a lot so i wasn't over reacting). I found some honors people and chilled out for a while. I was all ready to just sit around and not go back out. But everyone else was and i didn't want to be a whimp. So i got back on my skis and started practicing turning and slowing down on the training hill. My body got so tired by 2pm that i had to go rest up in the lodge for the rest of the day (well 2 hours). I got to know some honors people in the process and relaxed a bit.

I had a blast on this trip. I really want to go back again. I never really had a sport where i wanted to reach a goal before. But with this, i want to know how to ski well.. i want to be able to rip up the bunny slop and totally own the double diamond slopes. It's a real shame that it has to be so expensive.... Hopefully one day i can ski all i want, and be the best that i can be! :-)

It's just too damn cold for human beings....

i miss the old times when we would have snow days. I knew that when the phone rang at like 6 am it was a snow day and i wouldn't even get out of bed. but some days the communication tree was off and i would get all dressed and showered and walk up the street to school and realize that no one was there. Thank god that i wasn't too far (like a 5 min walk from my front door to the school's door). but there is hope of the snow day. And hope is one of the most precious things that never can die..

no hope for us RIT students and our never ending schedule

Ok so in graphic vis yesterday we were having a critic. We got to my work, and i got up and showed the class my mindmap page, thumbnail sheet and my final board. I am really proud of this project because i worked really hard on it and i think that it was my best work. So when we got to discussing my work, Ray (the professor) made a comment on how neat and oragnized my mindmap was. He went on to say that they shouldn't be organized and it was just way too neat. So i sat down, not really bothered by it and we contined with everyone elses work. This one guy got up and showed his work. Now him and a couple of the previous people had the same organized mindmap situation as i did. So Ray said to the class "He has the Allison disease!" and one of the students asked "what is that?" and he said "organization". I almost died laughing!

it is way too cold outside. My mom called today and said that saranac lake (which is close to where i live) got down to 40 below last nigt. It sucks even more that my laundry mat is in another building, so i hvae to bundle up to go do my laundry. This is ridiculous. I should have applied to a college in warmer weather.

we proved physics wrong... hahahahha

i'm sitting here in physics lab, and we dumbfounded our professor when we showed him our computer generated data. Temperature was increasing.. but the resistance was decreasing!! how is the world did that happen!!
