I just finshed "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (i just didn't want to go on reading 1984 because it was kinda of a depressing book). i love the movie with Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. It is absolutely so romantic and because you don't exactly know what is up with holly golightly it makes it all the more interesting. i thought that the book would clear up any answers that i had with the characters but like the movie it left you without understanding. the book followed the movie or the movie followed the book, but between the two, i love the movie. the book made holly out to be a little bit more of a bitch and a gold digger whereas the movie just made her out to be lost and sweet. at least the book wasn't too long or i would have been a little pissed off from my dissapointment.

today is my little brothers 16th brithday.  so for his birthday him and i went to see anchorman and then we joined my mother at pizza hut.  now i have to say that anchorman was such a stupid movie... one of those movies that you have to be drunk or high to appreciate.  when we joined our mother at pizza hut, she told us that a family put a bid in on our house.  here is some background.. we were originally selling our house for 172,000 when it was assesed for 162,000 expecting that an offer would be less then what we listed it for.  well we lowered out price to 169,000 but the family that put in the bid, put it in for 160,000.... below the assesed value.  hahaha yeah right hahahah also, they put in a consignincy clause.. meaning that if we sign with them, we can't show the house to anyone else but they won't buy the house till they sell their house in plattsburgh.  that also didn't fly with our family... and our movers who are controlling everything.  now i believe that this family is playing with us.  they visted our house 4 times... which includes twice today (our poor old dog is so exhausted from being out and about because of these people).  so we are going to counter offer for 167,000 and see if they bite.  idk, but i think that i'm really getting interested in this whole real estate thing.. maybe one day i can find myself a nice little niche in a good area and make a killing. :-)

so i just sign onto this to write a post saying that nothing much is going on in my life so that is why i haven't been writing anything, and to my discovery, they updated the blogger thingy.  so now i can post in color and post a pic in this.  it's so freaken amazing..... yeah i really don't have much to do now adays.  but i like the quiet, and i like to know that if i feel the urge i can go and paint, or take a nap, or read a book.  it just sucks that my friends seem to be a little MIA this summer...... really a shame because it's my last summer here.

our wonderful realter (the woman that is trying to sell our house so that we can get the hell out of here) felt so bad for us because this couple didn't buy our house, she bought us a pizza for dinner!! i wish she can be our realter forever!

so tonight my brother made a fire outside in the backyard. we were chillin in the adirondack chairs. i noticed that the bats were coming out, so i was already starting to freak out. the dog was laying in the grass when all of a sudden she started to bark. when i looked over, she was up and running. now my dog is about 10 years old, and can barely climb the stairs, let alone run after something. when i looked closer, i saw that my golden retreiver was running after a skunk!! my brother and i were screaming at her to get away from the skunk. i thought that she was good as sprayed when i saw her disappear behind the shed with the skunk. lucky our screaming too some affect, when the dog emerged. i told my brother to smell the dog to make sure out mother wouldn't kill us. we were blessed to have a dog that didn't have to take a bath in tomato juice. this seems like a typical night in the sticks.

my brother got a really insightful fortune in his cookie from the chinesse place. it read "Life is a tragedy for those who feel and a comedy for those who think." Just think about it.

so it's been about three weeks, and i have finally finished my second book "A Rage to Live" by John O'hara. This was the thickes book i have lined up this summer at over 700 pages. it was a decent read. there were some steamy moments, great controversy within the story line and likeable characters. but there is a lack of final thought or feeling. it was a shallow book, and for it's length, i kinda regreet spending so much time with it. i don't recomend reading it, but if anyone feels up to the thick novel, feel free, anyone can borrow my copy.
