wow this has been a crazy ass week.......

the house started being packed up on tuesday by these college reject stoners that were my age. needless to say i was a little aprehensive to have them go through my drawers to pack up. they did a shitty ass job but my mom bought them pizza and donuts anyways. i went shopping most of the time so i could get out of the way. we couldn't really sit on the couches inside so when i wasn't shopping in plattsburgh i was outside sitting at the patio set reading my new book (more on that at a later date). bright and early thursday morning the movers came in their huge ass truck. now the packers said that it would only take two days to pack up the house... but oh no ... we have so much crap that it took them 2 and a half, as the movers were moving the packers were packing and we were trying not to get trampled in the chaos. since our packers were young... our movers just had to be old. these guys were really struggling with our stuff they were so old. but they got the job done. it' took 13 hours to load the truck and even though we didn't have to do anything, it was just exhausting watching them. my brother and i got to stay over night at the donlan's house. i love that house, it's always so comfortable and clean. friday morning, bright and early yet again, the family and i pilled into the cars and drove out to rit. it was so god aweful hot that day, and i didn't have air conditioning.... plus i got stun by a bee... and i got lost on 390..... and we got in at like 5 o'clock and we had to unload everything before the parents left for wisconsin.

saturday....

i went to a great rumage sale in fairport with my aunts. i got the cutest chair, otoman and end table all for 20 dollars!! i love them, such great colors and shapes. i spent the better part of the day disgusting from sweat because it was so hot and iwas trying to put the house together. luckily anne and chris called me and we spent the better part of the afternoon chillin, shopping, eating and whatnot. then we headed out to the last LST party ever... which went out in a bang i would have to say (preaty memerable).

sunday....

i thought that i would be smart and get my grocery shopping done before the big storm hit rochester for the next two days, so that i wouldn't have to leave my house if i didn't need to. well i get to wegmans.. i decided to leave my window cracked because it was so hot out... parked way out in the parking lot because all of rochester is there doing their shopping. i start getting my stuff.. about half way done when all of a sudden i hear people saying "wow look at it ran". it looked like a monsoon with that rain.... my window are open at the house and in my car...... i finsh shopping and i go out to the parking lot. because i tought that the rain would just last all day, i decided to make a break for it and started running out to the car. i'm in a tank top and jeans... and just soaked to the bone. i opened my trunk and just started throwing my groceries in there, not really caring that stuff is getting squished. i hop into my car and started driving.... by the time i hit campus, the hail starting coming down. i had to pull over so i don't crack any windows. by the time i get to the apartment, the rain isn't as bad as before.. but if i didn't have frozen food in th ebad i would have left everything in the car. so i just start grabbing as many bags as i can and ran to the apartment. by the time i was done, i'm soaked... underwear and all. now my car smells because it got wet inside... i'm still cold from yesterday and it's still raining.....

Black and White Photography

i found this while i was in search of some good wallpaper for my desktop. have to say that i love preaty much all his work... what i looked at was through a link of the "my photography" links an then "latest phots". there is some really great shots of the 9/11 attack, and then some random shots of celebritys. the photographer is r.gradiner....

also......

i finshed "sex and the city". the book was a quick read, with some good stories. the series does hold true to the book, sometimes word for word. one thing that shocked me was all the drugs that the characters used. every chapter the author had carrie in a bathroom stall smoking a joint. also, carrie was meaner than she is portrayed in the series. otherwise it was a good read if you just want to be entertained.

now that i'm done with my summer reading (going back to school next week and i really don't have the time to read another book) i can finally say what book was my favorite..... and it is....... 1984 (the irony of it all). least favorite book was "a rage to live" (i thought that it would be a little more dramatic and inspiring but it fell really really short). but my favorite book of all time still is "blindness" by jose saramago. that is an absolute must read!!!

yesterday i finished 1984. i was a little skeptical, but i really loved that book. abosuletly a must read if you want to think about our society today and how much it is connected to this book. i don't want to get all preachy so i'm just goign to say that... wow... read the book

so last friday the inspector came from the people who want to buy our house. today my parents went to our realtors office to go over their list of things they want us to do. apparently these people want us to (among a huge list of other things) repair four bricks on the top of our chimmeny which are starting to come loose, tear up our bathroom floor to CHECK to see if there is water damage, tighten up a loose nob on a cabinet, etc, etc..... ok uh huh. these people are ridiculous. it's a 40 year old house, things are not going to be perfect, and they bid us down so low that we are barely seeing a profit out of the whole thing. they are just young and arrogant and really just a pain in our asses. honestly my family rather just stay in the house and go farther into debt than sell these people the house!

This has been a very enjoyable weekend. saturday was my mothers b-day, so the family all pilled into the mini-van and drove down to lake george. my mom loves lake george so she was just happy as a clam. we rode the minne-ha-ha and ate at a nice sea food restuarant, and walked around to all the shops (it was a real shame that all the shops were preaty much full of crapy stuff). sunday, mom made her favorite dinner of ham and scalped potatoes. then we all sat around roasting marshmellows and making smores in the backyard. aawwww family love

the leaves are starting to turn, god i love fall :-)

today i saw the village today. ( http://thevillage.movies.go.com/main.html ) I have always loved M. Night Shaymalan's movies. In each one he uses color to represent good, evil, fear, and love. In "the sixth sense" he used red to represent death. In "Unbreakable" he used purple to represent evil. "Signs" had numerous color representations. Blue was saftey, yellow was information, and green was evil. In his latest film the color cordination is quite obvious but still appreciated, whereas yellow is the "safe color" and red is the "bad color". What i truley loved when watching the movie is the tribute to loved ones lost. three times during the movie there is a shot of a lonsome chair, waiting to be sat in. the characters in the movie have all lost someone in their past, and the chair is a nice reminder that there will always be a place for them. The love story was refreshing to see in one of his films. the last three really was about love lost. in the "sixth sense" bruce willis is dead, and throughout the film you were led to believe that their marrage was failing. Another failed marrage was also in "unbreakable". for "signs" mel gibson's wife died and he lost his faith (a failed marrage with god). There was a lot of hope in this movie, a turn which the american public should take to heart. i won't spoil the ending of the movie for whomever didn't see it yet, but it was interesting.... a little suprising, but made you think of the possiblities laying out there in the world for us to discover. if you have always been a little sceptical of Shaymalon's movies then maybe you should just read into the imagrey he weaves.

well today we found out that we have to be out of the house by the first. so that means that we have to get a hold of the moving company, to make sure that it'll work out. the thing is, that they may only be available when i'm moving back to campus, and i wouldn't have my family's help moving the furniture in. so i may have to move in even earlier, etc, etc... i have no idea what the hell is going on!

we sold the house......................................................................

Monday, August 02, 2004

so today i laughed. now this was not a laugh of happiness or awkwardness, but a laugh of realization of how stupid people are. we got another offer on the house today from the same people who made the first offer. we told them the first time that their offer was way way too small, and do you know how much they offered us today?!? 5 thousand dollars lower then their original offer!!!! now what in gods name did they think we would think.

let the games begin
