I remember this one day a couple years ago. It was in december, around christmas. We had this snow day (very rare for being so far up north because most people can just ski-do over to the school ;-) ). My house was already all decorated for christmas... all decked out since my mom is obcessed with buying things. It was a beautiful day.. they predicted that it was going to be snowy and icky all day, but the sky was gorgeous and there was just these big flakes falling down. I had shelby come over so that we could bake christmas cookies and exchange christmas gifts early. My mom had a sauce pan on the stove with cut up apples, and cinnomin sticks in water. The whole house smelled like apples and cinnomon. We sat in the family room with the christmas tree all lit, opening gifts, baking cookies and smelling the goodness in the air. It was just so pictueresque. Moments like those are rare in times like these. I love the adirondacks for that, they seem to slow things down, so that you can appreciate the small things in life.
I would have to say it was one of the best christmas/winter moments that i can remember.......
