i totally forgot to write about this when i was reading up on this.

i was reading an article on cnn.com: http://www.cnn.com/2005/HEALTH/07/14/lobotomy.debate.ap/index.html

and i because of my boredom, i decided to google the history of lobotomies: http://www.lobotomy.info/adventures.html

it is actually quite interesting. almost barbaric to think that this was actually allowed. basically, he shoved an ice pick in the corner of the eye socket (not the eye, but the space inbetween the eye and the nose). took a hammer and hakced away at the frontal lobe. when the procedure was over with, the patient was left with a black eye and no care in the world. the person was enevitably left a zombie. now, i would love to get my hands on a decent biography on Dr. Walter Freeman. i think that he could have used a lobotomy himself. what was going on in his mind to justify what he was doing. truely sickening.
