This has been a Johnny Deep movie weekend.

sunday i saw two of his most recent movies, Finding Neverland and Willy Wonka.

Finding Neverland i thought was cute, and quite sad. the photography was beautiful when they streamed fantasy in with the read world. i've always been one of those people that become inspired by a movie, and after this one my thoughts of writing a book increased. i can just never think of what to write, or how to start. i wish i could just hide away, with no tv, just music, in the woods, in a cabin and let my mind wonder.

Willy Wonka was a good movie. I had to constantly remind myself not to compare the old version with this one. They tried to make it as individualistic as possible, with the umpalompas, the musics, the factory, and wonka himself. the endings are slightly different, which is nice. i would say that the older version is more "realistic". that wonka is human, which can be seen at the end of the movie when he retires to his office and scolds charlie for drinking the flying soda. depps wonka is more of a chartoon character. he's so socially awekward that you can only feel sorry for him on how nervous he is, but when watching his face on the screen there are moments that revel that he is saner than he looks, that he knows exactly what he is doing and the awekward moments is all an act. the newer version is all fantasy, the colors are fantastic, and imagry is great. i wish i could hear the words of the songs sung by the oompaloompas. unlike the first version there are no subtitles. go see the movie and don't try to compare the two. they are both good on their own ground. but if i was to have to choose to watch the old or the new verison in an afternoon. i would try to do both.
